On Friday, November 8, 2019, Dimmitt Insurance employees grabbed their sunscreen and headed to the docks. This particular Community Values Day included partnering with AMIkids for a lesson on the Tampa Bay ecosystem aboard a 65 ft. research vessel.
Volunteers spent the day mentoring kids during a floating lesson. “AMIkids is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping youth develop into responsible and productive citizens. AMIkids’ mission is to protect public safety and positively impact as many youth as possible through the efforts of a diverse and innovative staff. AMIkids works in partnership with youth agencies, local communities and families.” You can learn more about AMIkids on their website.
The day included collecting samples of marine life, looking at the findings under a microscope, and an overall explanation of the Tampa Bay ecosystem. It was a wonderful opportunity to mentor an amazing group of students. We are proud to support an organization that positively impacts both children and our community.
